Artist Trading Cards
Second annual ATC event will be held on November 2nd, 2014 - It was a great success and will be an annual event.
This is such a great way for those that travel away from Tucson during the summer to stay connected to the Sketchbook Artistry Guild.
ARTIST TRADING CARDS are miniature works of art usually created on 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch or 64 X 89 mm card stock.
They are originals, small editions and, most importantly, self-produced.
The idea is that you trade them with other people who produce cards, either at TRADING SESSIONS or wherever you meet another ATC trader in person.
Starting May 5th we will each make at least 5 trading cards - We will trade at the November 2nd Tucson Museum Sunday Meetup.
It is important that you meet other people in person to trade - i.e. it is ok to trade by mail but the main purpose of this trading session and the personal meeting is not only the exchange of cards but the exchange of personal experiences as well.

Art, Crafts and Art Supplies Holiday Exchange
December 7th, 2014 10am -12:00pm
Happy Holidays Sketchers!
We are going to have tons of fun at this mornings meet up. Come and join in the fun at our Annual White Elf-ephant Holiday Gift exchange.
Please bring original artwork, a hand crafted gift, or art supplies wrapped or in a gift bag to be shared in the white elf-ephant gift exchange.
The rules of the game:
Each participant supplies one wrapped gift. The gifts are placed in a central location, and participants determine in what order they will take turns selecting them by drawing numbers. The first person opens a wrapped gift and the turn ends. On subsequent turns, each person gets the choice of “stealing” any unwrapped item or choosing a wrapped one from the gift pile. When a player's gift is stolen, they can choose to steal an opened gift or select a replacement gift from the pile of wrapped presents. Each turn ends when a gift is unwrapped. Once a gift is "stolen" three times it is frozen in Art-tic Ice and can no longer be exchanged. The game is over when the last person has taken their turn.
This is going to be a fun morning with good friends, good food and lots of laughs.
Remember we meet in the Cafe A la C'art - they support us by offering a room each month for our meetings, so let's return the favor by supporting them and purchase a food/drink item.

The Traveling Sketchbook 2014-2015
The Sketchbook Artistry Guild is thrilled to announce The Traveling Sketchbook Project.
With this project, we hope to not only provide a fun way for participants to discover new methods of working, but also to foster a sense of community within TSAG.
The Traveling Sketchbook Project is open to all members of TSAG. Each participant will have three weeks to fill two adjacent pages (each page is 11” by 14”) with imagery or journaling based on the theme of FLIGHT.
Restrictions:
Here are just a few of the many possibilities that could be included:
• Drawings, paintings, collage, prints, designs, doodles, and documents
• Observations, written or illustrated
• Notes, experimentations
• Cuttings, photographs
• Found objects (preferably flat)
• Experiments with media, combinations of media
• Written thoughts, poems
At our first annual art show in the spring of 2015, the sketchbook will go on display and then will be auctioned off. We also anticipate holding a follow-up party for participants to meet and chat about the experience. As a final perk, selected images from the sketchbook will be posted on our official TSAG website.
Sounds like fun, don’t you think?
